LaunchPad, Fishponds
LaunchPad is a pioneering housing project for young people in Fishponds, Bristol that has won various awards due to being such great homes for students, key workers and young people. These dwellings are designed to help address housing issues experienced by many young people today, by providing them with an affordable, good quality home, which contributes to an increased sense of wellbeing. The project came about because of the fantastic drive of the key driving partners involved.
The mixed community is designed to create an aspirational environment where young people can learn from each other and encourage one another to achieve their goals and positively contribute to their community. It brings all groups together to create a better sense of community amongst those who are passionate about connecting with others and proactively building a new community.
In this report, we interview the project teams who delivered the development. We share their stories, highlight outcomes, and outline the evidence-based lessons learnt.
LaunchPad as a fascinating story - originally the idea of a student, who had seen something similar, it quickly developed into a pioneering development that will pave the way for others in the city. Read the story here:
